Course Overview

Our topics to be covered across the webinar included:

  • Our Institute President Barry Doyle and Chief Executive Barry Dempsey will talk with us about the recent amalgamation with CPA Ireland, as well as the priorities for the months and years ahead for both our profession, as well as for Chartered Accountants Ireland.
  • The Practice Consulting team has just launched a new Practice Link service, to assist members looking to buy, sell or merge their practices. Maria Moloney will be along to tell us more on this service and how you can avail of it.
  • Recent Tax updates from both jurisdictions on this island.
  • The Institute's ongoing interactions with key Regulators (such as Revenue, HMRC and the CRO) on behalf of our members.
  • A brief overview of some of the latest Compliance and Technical issues from recent weeks, as included in the October edition of Practice Matters.

Speaker Bio's

Conal Kennedy FCA - Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering audit, accounting and compliance. Over a 17 year period in Practice Consulting, Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice development and marketing.

Jeremy Twomey FCA - Jeremy in his role as Practice Consulting Manager works to support our member practitioners across our service areas, with a particular focus on compliance support, training and our associated advisory services. Jeremy is a Fellow of the Institute, having trained with Ernst & Young; he has held senior management positions across both financial and professional services, as well as the public sector.
