Course Overview

Sean Tierney, Senior Forensic Accountant, will be presenting on the essential duties and responsibilities of company directors. He will explain what it means to be a company director, explore the various types of directors, and discuss the key obligations involved. Sean will also delve into fiduciary and statutory duties, as well as the penalties that directors may face. This is an important presentation you won't want to miss—there’s no such thing as a "director lite."


Dee Moran, Head of Professional Accounting at Chartered Accountants Ireland will also facilitate a Q&A session following the presentation.

Speaker Bio

Sean Tierney is engaged as a Senior Forensic Accountant with the Corporate Enforcement Agency, holding this position since 2021.

Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having qualified in 1992. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Corporate, White–Collar and Regulatory Crime (The Honorable Society of King’s Inns).

Prior to joining the CEA, Sean worked for over 30 years in the private sector, engaged for the most part in insolvency and restructuring.
