Summary

Power Automate is an online workflow service used to automate time-consuming business tasks and processes across apps and services. This example-driven course will give the confidence to select the right actions and logic for business workflows. Participants will learn how to navigate the Power Automate interface confidently, use templates, create workflows and triggers and how to use Artificial Intelligence to increase productivity.

Power Automate Course Details

Format

This course will be delivered via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before the course is due to take place.

Who should attend

The course is an introduction for participants who aspire to improve productivity using Microsoft Power Automate for automating business processes and analyzing data to produce business insights without needing to code. If you use cloud-based Microsoft applications such as Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft (Office) 365, Power Automate can make your life easier by automating the repetitive tasks that a person would otherwise have to do.

Power Automate Administration and Permissions as well as using AI (Copilot) is covered within the examples:

  • Example One. Send an Email automatically.
  • Example Two. Update an Excel Table in a SharePoint folder from a received email.
  • Example Three. Save attachments from an email to a SharePoint folder.
  • Example Four. Update a SharePoint List from the Body of a received email.
  • Example Five: Update a SharePoint List based on an Excel Table Contents.
  • Example Six: Update a Dashboard in Power BI using Power Automate Trigger.

All participants should please note the following

  • Two monitors: Having two monitors is very strongly recommended for this training. It allows you to view the trainer's PC in one monitor and the application that is the subject of the training in the other. On a single screen, it can be difficult to arrange the trainer's screen and your own application comfortably. If you only have a single screen, please inform the trainer - ideally before the test session - and they can help you to get the best from the training session.
  • Microsoft Office version: We use Microsoft Office 365 Professional. If you are using an older version, please be aware that you might not be able to do some of the exercises that are using the latest features.
  • Windows 10/11: We prepare the files and deliver the course using Windows 10/11. If you are using a MacBook or other platform, please be aware that there can sometimes be incompatibilities and certain features that are not available on the Macintosh edition of Microsoft Office 365 Professional. These issues can be identified and resolved during the test session.
