Leading Irish business is seeking to recruit a recently qualfiied Chartered Accountant
This role is used by the business to source future Business Unit Financial Accountants and FC’s and offers great progression prospects for the right candidate. It is hoped that the successful candidate would move into a trading division in time. This may be based with our Irish trading divisions or our UK divisions
This role is within the Group Finance function.
The successful candidate will play a key role within areas of the Group Finance function such as Board reporting, governance, systems improvement, grants retrieval and weekly reporting. This role will have interaction with management at all levels and will offer exposure to a variety of tasks involving financial and management reporting, budgeting, internal audit, company secretarial and systems project work. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious qualified accountant to learn and get exposure to many financial aspects of a large fast moving business.
Main Responsibilities
Duties will include some of the following tasks but may be subject to change
Lead on Governance controls and policies across the Group as it grows into the future.
Responsible for co-ordinating and collating Board reports from each trading division for review with the Group FC prior to issuing to the Board.
Be a lead player in the area of grants. Help to identify available grants and co-ordinate the retrieval of these grants across the entire Keelings group.
Provide useful insight into weekly & monthly financial reporting so as the Board are informed of variances in financial reporting to budgets and prior year results.
Assisting and leading with internal audit reviews.
Assist shared services and the wider group with systems improvement initiatives so as the group is at the leading edge of modern business technology.
Responsible for collation of information in relation to full year financial forecasting for the group,
Assist with group budgeting process.
Approving supplier payments and payroll payments.
Assist with year-end audit and tax work.
Aid in accounting and reporting issues.
Ad hoc projects and systems work
Skills required
Practice background with experience of audit and the preparation of financial statements all a necessity.
FMCG experience preferred.
Previous experience of governance / internal audit would be a distinct advantage.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to manage time and perform to strict deadlines.
Possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
Attention to detail and a desire to complete work to a high standard is a prerequisite.
Be able to work as part of a team.
Excellent IT skills required, experience of RPA and/or VBA an advantage but not required.
Experience of SUN / Infor Accounting system an advantage.
Ability to speak French, Portuguese or Spanish an advantage but not required.
Flexibility if required to work outside of normal hours at certain times.
Travel will be required in this role and could be up to several days per month.

Education & Training
Qualified Chartered Accountant. Preferably with 1/2 year PQE
