Our client is an SME that helps governments in multiple jurisdictions implement successful projects.
Typical sectors that this consultancy operates in include aerospace , aviation, medical devices, ICT, pharmaceuticals, agrifood and tourism.
Owner managed business this is a succession planning role with the current incumbent retiring and so a solid handover in place.
You will be the lead Finance contact, working very closely with the Directors in supporting the growth and direction of the business.
Knowledge of compliance in general and also experience iin international business is an advantage in this role.
You will manage a small team in Dublin 2/3 people.
Revenue circa 7M
FX | compliance | consolidations are elements of the role.
Key responsibilities will include :
• Build a close working relationship with the Directors, Management and the Senior Executive team
• Manage and control the groups finance and accounting function, as well as providing suggestions for improvement in global finance operations
• Ensure that the finance and accounting systems and procedures are robust, compliant and support current and future activities
• Lead and develop the finance team
• Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
• Supervise the monthly close of the group accounts so as to ensure accurate and timely production
• Manage all aspects of financial reporting including the annual budgeting process, internal monthly reporting and forecasting
• Management of External Audit, Banking and Tax engagements and ensure timely completion of Audit, Tax and CRO returns
• Develop relevant reports and KPI’s to effectively manage the performance of the business and to assist the management team in decision making.
• Work with management senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
• Ensure that all compliance and regulatory requirements and returns are up to date
About you:
You must be a qualified ACA / FCA and have strong relevant services, multi entity and operational accounting experience.
To be successful you will need:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (some in an international firm would be an advantage).
• Financial Controller experience effectively managing a multi currency finance function.
• Have management experience/leadership skills within cross functional and cross locational teams.
• High attention to detail with the ability to unravel complex accounting and tax matters.
• Strong leadership, project management, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Very good command of MS Office
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
