Our client is an International NGO seeking a Finance Systems & Project Accountant reporting to the Head of Finance, the role is for a contract of indefinite duration and is based in West Dublin.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Lead on the finance transformation project which includes a review and reorganisation of the finance team, review and re-engineering of finance processes and ensuring best use of technological solutions. This includes HQ Finance (Phase 1) and the wider International Finance team (Phase 3).
Development and roll out of a strategic plan for improvements in the global finance system (Phase 2 of the transformation project).
Oversight of all on-going and upcoming projects that require involvement from the Finance team. This includes managing the planner, taking the lead or otherwise ensuring projects are appropriately staffed, timelines are achievable, and deadlines can be met.
Responsible for driving continuous improvement and efficiencies in the finance systems and processes and providing support on the introduction and roll out of new processes/system changes.
Responsible for ensuring the Finance Library (including Finance policies, procedures, and training materials) remains up to date.
Analysing the financial information needs of the organisation by reviewing existing systems and working out the best way to meet those needs through the design of new or improved systems, including the potential introduction of a data visualisation and analytics tool.
Lead delivery in the area of financial applications contained within the Agresso Business World Financial Suite. Ensure applications are being used to their full capability as per the organisation’s requirements.
Accountable for the overall delivery of agreed solutions including design, build, UAT and roll out.
Liaising with IT on the management of finance systems (including the day-to-day relationship with third party suppliers of finance systems).
Support the Financial Controller as needed on the year end close and audit.
Support the FP&A manager as needed on the annual and quarterly budget process.
Provide dedicated (desk based) financial capacity building to the International Country offices for 2 weeks each year. This can include follow up on audit recommendations, finance training, support on Institutional funding, or other ad hoc support as required.
Qualification
ACA / FCA qualified
Experience
Experience in the implementation of finance systems and processes.
Experience with Agresso Business World or similar Accounting packages
Experience of the INGO sector would be ideal
Experience working in an International Finance team
Proven experience in leading cross organisational projects
Skills
An enquiring mind with an ability to analyse business processes.
Ability to maintain good working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
Prepare and present reports to non-finance professionals in an accurate and timely manner including the ability to complex interpret financial information.
