Commercial Group Financial Accountant :
Our closely partnered client is a major energy organisatoin seeking newly qualified ACA additions to their central Finance Operations.
The positions offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team in the Accounting & Reporting area with a variety of projects to get involved in.
This role will report to the Financial Accounting Manager or FP&A Manager and will be based in Dublin Head Office

Position Description :
Permanent Finance opportunities have arisen now within the Finance Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams in our client, where candidates are sought who are highly motivated, with a strong accounting and analytical background and capability. The positions offer the successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for Finance Operations and FP&A are the delivery of best practice finance processes, digitalisation, delivering business requirements and continued staff development.
Key Responsibilities
• Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and BU level.
• Co-ordination of the annual statutory audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.
• Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group.
• Responsibility for overseeing and reviewing accounting and reporting processes, including ensuring that relevant record to report controls are operating effectively.
• Prepare, analyse and report BU monthly management reporting information.
• Analyse and report financial and non-financial KPIs.
• Prepare forecast, target setting, budgets and 5-year plans, to include gathering inputs through engagement with the business, reporting draft and final outcomes and commentary.
• Address ad hoc queries and decision support requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with circa 2 years post qualification experience +
• High level of accounting competency and strong analytical skills.
• Highly motivated – ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
