Our client in Cork in the healthjcare sector is seeking an experienced FCA as a project accountant or financial controller on a consulting / interim basis.
You will be set up as a sole trader to the business and bill them for your time.
Its an FC level role with varied duties as the client is currently short-staffed in the finance division.
Currently 25 people in Finance.
The role would not require any people management.
The right person / (or 2 people) would invoice the client directly at a daily / weekly rate
The role could be done on a Part time basis also if that suited the member.. or full time.
It will suit an FCA with a breadth of experience – particularly an FCA with hospital / healthcare exposure.
Guide/outline to the role below :
• To provide support for planned and unplanned leave for the accountants (3 qualified accountants in the dept) or department supervisors (Payroll, Creditors, Patient Billing).
• Assist with workload pressures at certain times during the year (e.g. system implementations, annual audit, internal audit)
• Manage ad-hoc finance projects
• Assist with the development of documentation for finance processes
• No direct reports but alot of interaction with finance department staff
• Hands on roll and the work would be varied.
• Onsite at healthcare campus or the offsite office nearby
• Very little supervision provided so someone with a number of years post qualification experience required
• Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer
The CFO is putting together a panel of one or two experienced people who are available for ad-hoc work scenarios. It might suit someone who is recently retired or returning to the workplace and wants part-time work, or someone who already has an existing portfolio of clients. Initially, it would be best if the person could invoice the client as a self employed person. It could evolve over-time to an employee status if that suited both parties.
It would not suit someone who is looking for a long term full-time job. Also, it would not suit someone looking for a senior strategic role as this is very much a hands-on role. For example, the immediate requirement is someone to step in to the Payroll department for a couple of months due to the sudden absence of 2 experienced staff members.
