Our client is a growing SME in the medical sector seeking a Financial Accountant to work closely with the Finance Director
Financial Accountant Job Description
Job Responsibilities
• Full accounting and controlling responsibility for 2 Operating company ledgers (with possibility of additional entities to be added to role)
• Preparation of full Monthly Financial Reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, & Cashflow) for those 2 legal entities, together with Management Reporting & Commentary for combined Group
• Oversight of Monthly Payroll calculations and processing and liaison with Payroll Manager
• Hands on day-to-day liaison with A/cs Receivable and A/cs Payable Manager
• Intercompany reconciliations (minimal).
• Regular interaction with FD, COO & wider operational teams to improve processes & to better control costs
• Manage the yearend external audit and any internal queries from Management team/Owners
• Assist in the construction of Annual Budget (/Reforecasts) for companies in remit
• Deal with all related Tax (particularly managing PSWT credits) & CRO filings and resolve both internal and external queries around same
• Assist FD, and wider Finance team, on Finance projects, automation of processes and process improvement.
Role Requirements
• Recently Qualified Accountant, ideally with 2 years+ post-Practice experience in Industry (but open to considering suitable candidate direct from Practice)
• Very strong attention to detail
• Good IT and Excel Skills – knowledge of BrightBooks an advantage
• Flexible (new and varied work requests)
• Ability to prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines
• Good interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate a strong work ethic & a willingness to learn. Essentially a new role and as such the role will expand subject to successful candidate’s abilities
