For full information about the syllabus, download the Course Outline at the link above. You can also download a Brochure for detailed information about how the programme is delivered and what participants will learn.

Developed and delivered by the leading institution in financial education, the Certificate in Finance for Managers is designed for professionals who work in a non-financial role or come from a non-financial background.

This programme meets the needs of executives who contribute to strategic or financial decisions – from appraising budgets, to determining pricing strategies, to evaluating investment decisions. It is particularly suitable for those in a management position or aspiring to take on managerial responsibilities.

Taking a comprehensive and in-depth approach to the fundamentals of finance with real-world applications in mind, it equips participants with the confidence to ask informed questions and contribute fully to the financial debate in key business decisions.

Course content

After taking the Certificate in Finance for Managers, participants will:

  • Understand the fundamentals of accounting and finance and know how to apply them to decisions
  • Be capable and confident in interpreting financial information and seeing the bigger picture
  • Be adept at managing costs and have a firm grasp of the budgeting and planning process
  • Be able to identify key financial risks in business proposals and adopt strategies to mitigate them
  • Be able to effectively communicate the financial implications of proposals to stakeholders
  • Make smarter business decisions, based on sound financial principles, that add greater value to the organisation.

Coaching option

Participants can opt to access to 3 hours of one-to-one, personalised online coaching with an expert finance coach from our Professional Development faculty.

The coaching option is suitable for those participants who wish to gain deeper insights into how the financial concepts and techniques covered on the programme apply directly to their current roles. Participants who select this option will engage with the Course Director to establish their goals and expectations.

How you study

The Certificate in Finance for Managers is taught over eight weeks and is delivered through a blend of online learning, self-study and live virtual classrooms. The virtual classrooms are facilitated by an expert tutor and take place on alternate Wednesdays (consisting of two sessions with a break: 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 4pm.)

Assessment

The Certificate is assessed through three online multiple-choice assessments (completed after Modules 1, 2 and 3) and a case-study Capstone Assignment (after Module 4) in which participants integrate the knowledge and skills acquired on the programme.

In-house option

For organisations who wish to enrol six or more employees on the programme, we can also deliver the Certificate as an ‘in-house training’ programme. Contact our In house training
