A memorable event was held by the Young Professionals Committee, in partnership with the Institute Diversity and Inclusion Committee and CASSI. The event featured delicious BBQ food, entertaining drag bingo, foot-tapping music, and impressive lip-sync performances. It was a celebration of love and diversity where attendees enjoyed delightful cuisine, talented performers, and quality time with loved ones. The event was a huge success, leaving guests with unforgettable memories of a perfect mix of food, entertainment, and fun.

The Young Professional Committee, in collaboration with the Law Society Young Professionals group, organised a table quiz in May. The turnout was impressive. We are thrilled to announce that we raised over €285 for Dogs Trust. Your generosity will provide care and support for abandoned dogs.

Embrace equity – valuing feminine power in the workplace

Wednesday 8 March 2023, - online

To celebrate and inspire women on IWD, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Thrive and the Young Professionals Committee hosted this unique and thought-provoking event that explored the value and impact feminine power holds in the workplace. Attendees heard from the founder of Workplace Wellness, Kate Gaffey, on how to embrace and build self-trust, nurture the cyclic nature of women, and harness our innate strengths as routes to personal and professional resilience.

Exploring New Career Horizons

Wednesday 22 February 2023 , CA House 

This event detailed how members could explore the many opportunities and career paths. Whilst many members decide to pursue careers in accountancy practices and companies in industry, options can also be found by joining a start-up, setting up your own business, or working in charities and non-governmental organisations. Our varied guest panellists illustrated all these opportunities. Bernard Brogan ACA, Michael Walls FCA and Charlotte Keating ACA.

Belong To Rainbow Ball

Friday 27 January 2023; Aviva Stadium, Dublin

Chartered Accountants Ireland were delighted to support the Belong To Rainbow Ball on Friday 27 January in teh Aviva Stadium, Dublin. Belong To provides support to young people across the country and continues to highlight the problems many young LGBTQ+ people face today. Members of the Young Professionals joined Karin Lanigan, Head of Member Experience, to represent Chartered Accountants Ireland.

BelongTo Rainbow Ball

Flexing your finances to offset the cost-of-living crisis.

In conjunction with the Cork Society, the Young Professionals Committee were delighted to host this webinar, which explores how we can tackle the current cost of living crisis. Money mindset coach Kel Galavan from Mrs Smart Money. Kel transforms how professionals look, act, think about, and handle money. After stepping away from her 16-year career to focus on her kids and family, she suddenly faced the challenge of making half the household income stretch as hard as possible. This challenge resulted in a 'No spend year' in 2019, where she reduced her family outgoings by €27,000 and had the best year of her life.
