Finance Director -- Growing International SME - Cork

Our client is a design and manufacturing company in the telecoms sector seeking a strong commercial FCA as Financial Controller addition to the finance team.

Key responsibilities:
Financial Controls and Reporting –
Internal controls - Develop and maintain the internal controls related to accounting and financial reporting system, policies, controls and procedures. Implement and maintain anti-fraud measures across all financial and business functions.
Management Accounts - Prepare, manage and assume full responsibility for the monthly accounting close and monthly/quarterly reporting process presenting monthly financials to the Senior Management team
Foreign subsidiaries - Reporting on the financial activities of foreign subsidiaries and co-ordinating their expansion. Giving direction and advice on all financial matters to local controller/advisors.
Cash and Treasury Management - Management of cashflows, foreign currencies and FX risk. Liaise with group bankers. Oversee and report on cash collection from debtors.
Communication - Communicate effectively with non-financial personnel as well as external auditors by providing timely and accurate data and communication.

Accounting –
Transactions - Prepare and approve accounting transactions and account reconciliations, providing relevant information to the Senior Management team.
Resolution - Responsible for the resolution of any issues arising in the day-to-day activities of the finance function. Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve any queries regarding invoices, process and maintain purchase orders throughout their entire life cycle, maintaining expense logs of Senior Management team.
Reconciliations - Responsible for the maintenance of ledger integrity and ensuring all submodules reconcile to the ledger.
Inventory - Responsible for overseeing the inventory management functions and carrying out monthly reviews on aged stock, consignment stock.

Compliance
· Tax Compliance - Ensure financial compliance with all applicable laws and tax regulations, ensure all filing requirements (IRE & UK VAT, Payroll taxes, RCT, Corporation tax, Intrastat & Vies, 46G and RTD) are complied with.

Education & Experience:
Qualified ACA / FCA with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
This is a senior management role and the applicant should have commercial experience across all relevant areas of the business. Experience in a company importing and exporting into Ireland and the UK would also be an advantage.
Experience of working in an owner-managed business is an advantage
Experience of Sage 200 or similar accounting package is required.
Strong presence with proven track record of presenting to Senior Management.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork and integrity - discretion and confidentiality is imperative in this role
Proven organisational skills with the ability to multi task and succeed in a deadline driven environment, a quick learner with a can-do attitude who will not stop until resolution is achieved.
IT - Strong IT administrative abilities (Proficient in Excel, MS Office)
Ability to build, manage and sustain internal and external networks and partnerships
Track record of driving continuous improvement and cultural change
