Revenue confirmed to Chartered Accountants Ireland that Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS) payments will not be stopped until Wednesday, 1 September where an employer failed to submit their EWSS Eligibility Review Form (EFR) for June and July by the deadline on 15 August 2021. Revenue has provided this grace period to allow EWSS employers complete and file the ERFs if they have not already done so.
Revenue commenced a campaign on Tuesday, 17 August to communicate the importance of filing the first two ERFs immediately if an employer intends to continue claiming the EWSS.
Employers must deregister if they are no longer eligible or no longer intend to claim the EWSS subsidy.
Further information on the EWSS Eligibility Review Form is included in the Guidelines on eligibility for the EWSS from 1 July 2021. Information on how to complete the EWSS Eligibility Review Form is also included on the Revenue website.
