Risk & Governance Manager - Cork (FS) 4 Days PW (45/50k prorata) (Interviewing)

Our client is a well-established medium sized customer based financial services entity based on the outskirts of Cork city.
This is a senior role reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.

General Scope of Role:
This is a varied and multi-faceted role that encompasses a broad range of duties and responsibilities spanning data protection, money laundering, and risk.
Reporting to the CEO, the Governance Manager in conjunction with the Board of Directors & CEO will help facilitate compliance with the org data protection (DP) obligations under law.

The Governance Manager will establish anti-money laundering and terrorist financing policies and procedures within the organisation.
The Governance Manager’s responsibilities under risk will be to review the operational risk framework and register, risk management system and identify associated risks on an ongoing basis. To ensure timely and adequate risk reporting to the Risk Committee and the Board, and to implement the risk management policy and procedures

Desirable Skills Set: (Flexible)

 Experience in dealing with risk issues in a financial services environment.
 Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
 Banking and or credit union experience is an advantage.
• Have expertise in Irish and EU DP legislation to include an in-depth understanding of GDPR.
• Qualified ACA
• Have experience applying and implementing legal and regulatory requirements.
• Self-motivated and able to drive process change within the organisation.
• Possess strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills/ ability.
• Have a good understanding of information technologies and data security.
• Background in financial services.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving skills are needed to identify potential risks and come up with appropriate responses.
• Knowledge of the CBI regulatory framework desirable
