Our client is a member ship based organisation overlapping the medical and educational sectors with an international dimension seeking the addition of a qualified ACA to join the team in a new FA role reporting to the FM.
Circumstances dictate that it will be a contract initially but every possibility of longer term prospect.

The financial accountant role involves working closely with the Group Finance Manager within the Reporting team, the senior finance team and the wider finance department.
Specifically the responsibilities of the post will include:
o Reporting: defining and managing the production of monthly management reports and financial analysis including:
o management of monthly and quarterly reporting calendars
o generating internal management reports
o improving reports design and relevance
o ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet accounts and timeliness of journal entries and other adjustments
o year end statutory reporting under IFRS and US GAAP
o responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts for subsidiary undertakings, and specific departments
o Policies and Process Compliance:
o supporting and contributing to the design, development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Finance function
o ensuring the necessary finance policies, procedures, controls, systems, processes and support are in place to meet changing & evolving business needs
o liaising with external advisors including company secretary
o Taxation:
o preparation and submission of various tax returns for the Group, including PSWT, VAT and Corporation Tax.
o General:
o ad-hoc reporting and analytics, planning and internal and external audit
o undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time
o ad-hoc reporting and analytics, tax compliance and planning and internal and external audit
Person Specification:
The successful candidate should be a motivated, flexible, self starter.
Qualified ACA ideally have gained 1-2 years post qualification experience within a large organisation.
In addition the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate;
o analytical capability and structured approach to accurately analyse and interpret data combined with sound business judgement
o excellent Microsoft Excel skills together with strong database experience
o experience of Agresso accounting system would be an advantage
o excellent oral and written communication skills
o strong interpersonal and influencing skills
