Role overview
Our client requires a detailed oriented and motivated newly qualified accountant (with practice experience), with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, assisting in audit processes and in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a wide-ranging client base.
Job spec/Responsibilities
· Assist audit seniors in the planning, execution, completion and delivery of company audits in accordance with regulatory standards;
· Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting and taxation submissions to include:
o year end accounts preparation assignments for audit exempt companies, Partnerships and sole traders to manager/partner review stage, in compliance with applicable accounting standards
o Preparation of personal and corporation tax returns to manager/partner review stage, ensuring compliance with applicable tax legislation and filing deadlines;
o Preparation of annual company returns, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and filing deadlines;
· Ensure completion of assignments within the appropriate budget and timeframes;
· Preparation of VAT, RCT and payroll/PAYE returns, ensuring tax compliant, timely and accurate submissions on behalf of clients;
· Maintain accurate records and documentation for all audit, accounting and tax activities;
· Liaise with clients and provide high level customer service to address inquiries and resolve issues raised on a timely basis;
· Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and tax legislation;
· Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Key Competencies/Qualifications
· Newly Qualified Accountant with practice experience;
· Technical knowledge of accounting, audit and taxation principles and standards;
· Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently to meet deadline pressures;
· Excellent IT skills to include Excel, Power Point and Software packages
