Our client is a Hotel group seeking a well rounded ACA to join the finance team as a Financial Accountant to help tighten controls and processes and multiple integration projects as they onboard the new Hotel into the group.
Financial Accountant
(Reports to experiences FCA Financial Controller)
• To work with onsite hotel finance teams to review internal control processes as identified by the Regional Heads of Finance and help to implement new controls and processes in line with group control procedures and requirements
• Spend time working on the newly designed processes to help to iron out problems to then see it through creating SOP’s that are easy to follow for the onsite hotel accounts teams.
• Work on finance related projects as identified by Head Office or Regional Heads of Finance.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance – Assist in preparation of and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to financial regulations.
• Budget Management: Contribute to development and oversee the hotel’s operating budget. Review financial performance against the budget.
• Internal Controls & Policies – Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
• Financial Planning – Contribute to financial insights and analysis to support business growth, cost control, and overall performance improvement.
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the hotel’s strategic and operational goals.
• Cost & Payroll Management – Align with payroll processing, labor costs, and overall cost control within the hotel, ensuring financial efficiency.
• Cash Flow & Risk Management – Monitor cash flow, financial risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
• Audit & Regulatory Compliance – Liaise with external and internal auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, facilitate audits, and implement necessary recommendations.
• Technology & Systems Management – Ensure the effective use of financial software and automation tools, including Sage 50, to streamline financial operations.
• Team : Work as part of a dynamic team spearheading multiple operational and financial projects.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with the General Manager, Regional Head of Finance, Heads of Department, and external partners to support financial decision-making.
• Some Travel will be required within Ireland.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Recently qualified ACA with a range of audit experience
• Experience working both with a team but also leading projects and taking initiative
• Highly motivated individual
• Hotel industry exposure (audit / clients) is ideal but not at all essential with perhaps an understanding of financial operations within a hospitality environment.
• Sage 50, Opera is an advantage
• High level of integrity and ethical standards
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data.
• Strong communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to present financial data clearly to management and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Requirements
• Newly qualified ACA accountant with a range of audit experience
