Overview of role
Our client is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic senior accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in Dublin. A permanent role with the option of hybrid working, you will be a senior member of the client accounting team, working closely with the Head of Accounting and the Managing Director. You will have at 2 years or more post qualification financial services experience and a desire to work in a fast paced, client facing environment. Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
You will have a broad range of responsibilities including:
Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of capital markets and aircraft leasing SPVs
Beginning to end responsibility for leading the preparation of financial statements, including active involvement in both audit preparation and delivery;
Lead the on boarding of new clients from an accounting perspective
Train and manage less experienced members of the team;
In time take on a portfolio of SPV directorships thereby getting a broader exposure to the transaction and clients;
Lead the interaction with auditors and the client to ensure successful completion of the financial statements;
Manage the completion of quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of aircraft leasing SPVs;
Liaising with the tax advisors in relation to VAT and corporation tax compliance.
Preparation and filing of quarterly regulatory returns to Central Bank of Ireland;
Completion of FATCA, EMIR and CRS returns; and
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the team
Experience & Qualifications
We are seeking a qualified ACA / ACCA accountant, with at two years or more post qualification financial services experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role within a Top 10 accounting firm or corporate services company, who can demonstrate the following:
Ability to review complicated SPV transactions from an accounting perspective and lead the on boarding and delivery of all related accounting requirements;
Strong technical accounting knowledge;
Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries;
Prior experience in managing audit trainees/newly qualified accountants;
Experience in a financial reporting role would be an advantage
Proficiency in using MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills is essential;
Excellent communication skills
Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail
The candidate should be able to think on their feet, show attention to detail and resourcefulness, and have strong communication and organisational skills. An enthusiastic attitude is essential
