Craig Hanlon

Details of Professional Career
My professional career to date has been one with a wide variety of exposure. As part of my training contract I held a position of financial controller in a large industry based role. Having specialised in insolvency and restructuring I then furthered my extensive expertise in investigative assignments leading a variety of expert witness and forensic
accounting engagements. I then left practice for brief spell where I sat on the boards of seven companies and was
involved in a number of startups spanning across multiple industries.
Details of Institute/District Society Activities
My contributions thus far to the institute have been by way of CPD educating accountants on the niches of insolvency and restructuring to allow them to better educate their clients. I have contributed to the content in a book published by the institute on restructuring along with other CPD courses and am a member of RII.
Details of other personal particulars or other matters judged by the Candidate as relevant to the Election
I believe my broad levels of expertise in various fields will be a good voice for all types of institute members across all fields of work both in practice and industry. I am passionate about helping sme's grow and ensuring that the right
tools and expertise are in place to help entrepreneurs and business owners excel.

Sahil Sarin

Details of Professional Career
I began my career in 2018, working at John McCarrick & Associates while pursuing my CPA Ireland qualification.  After qualifying in 2021, I remained in practice, gaining experience in financial accounting, taxation, and forensic accounting. In 2024, I transitioned to industry and now work as a statutory accountant with Pfizer.
Details of Institute/District Society Activities
Over the past year, I’ve been an active member of the Leinster Society, regularly attending meetings and events and getting to know fellow members. I’m proud to have contributed during a pivotal time of change and integration and hope to continue playing an integral role as the society evolves.
In 2023, I served as Secretary of the Leinster CPA Society, followed by my appointment as Chairman in 2024, ahead of the amalgamation with Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Details of other personal particulars or other matters judged by the Candidate as relevant to the Election
I’ve also served on the CPD Committee, supporting the development of the annual CPD programme, and on the CPA Ireland Skillnet Steering Group.
I was grateful to stand on stage at the 2022 Accountancy Awards, as John McCarrick & Associates was recognised for CSR Initiative of the Year: the Back to School project, part of the Kenya Child Foundation. The firm had also received this award in 2017 and 2018 for school building projects in Kenya.
