Format
This course will be delivered via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before
the course is due to take place.
The online interactive live sessions will utilise the functionality of
our online learning platform and will be an engaging, collaborative manner of
learning. This session will not be recorded, and therefore attendance is
required.
Course overview
- Design of fully integrated model (self balancing
etc.)
- High level of automation of model: based on a case
study approach
- Macro usage for basic assumption setting (e.g. dates
covered), automation and report generation
- Hierarchical bottom up reporting structure from
monthly detailed to quarterly top level reporting
- Reconciliation between the rolling aspect of the
model with the requirement to recognize the financial year
- Loading historical data (opening trial balance)
automatically and accurately
- Model accuracy verification technique
- Formulas to distinguish history from forecast
- Graphical outputs and key reports including use of
conditional formatting and other techniques in KPI's etc
- Sensitivity Analysis within the model as an inherent part of same
Key learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Use some, or all, of the techniques and concepts
presented for forecast generation within the participant's own organization.
- Gain the corresponding Excel tools for short-term tactical cash flow forecasting purposes
What do you need to access this course
- To get the most from your course, it is strongly
recommended that participants have two monitors. This allows the Zoom window
to be in one monitor and the application that is the subject of the training
in the other
- It is possible to attend the training with a single
monitor and there are some specific techniques that we can demonstrate to make
the most of the available screen real estate. Please make sure you inform the
trainer at info@professional.ie and ensure to attend the test session before
your course if you have a single monitor
- The course will be delivered using Microsoft Office
365 Professional. If you are using this software, please ensure it is
installed and that you are logged in properly - some features are disabled
until you log in. Please inform the trainer or email us if you are using an
older version of Microsoft Office and be aware that some of the features
covered in the training may not be available
- We prepare our files on Windows 10 - if you would like to us an Apple MacBook please ensure that Office is installed and verify that the course files open properly prior to the training
