What do they look like?

Your skills and analytical thinking make you a "go-to" person. Appreciating the links between all stakeholders and organisational strategy is important now.

Your technical skills are the knowledge and abilities to perform your core business and financial duties, whichever area you are working in.


Analytical thinking - What are the landmarks?

  • You are sought out by others for advice and solutions on how to best to interpret and use information
  • You are skilled in the use of financial modelling including speadsheets and quantitative methods for reporting and decision making
  • Monitor, evaluate and renew business models to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Review complex and/or sensitive reporting and analysis and identify the potential impact on the organisation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial and non-financial performance evaluation methods
  • Fully appreciate the major financial risks relevant to the organisation
  • Ability to define and articulate KPIs and critical success factors that assess the effectiveness of the organisations strategy
  • Fully appreciate the links between financial management, organisational structure and its strategy

Stakeholder engagement - What are the landmarks?

  • Prepare and present reports used to feed into management decisions and strategic decisions
  • Fully appreciate and able to plan for the internal and external factors impacting an organisation
  • Knowledge of corporate governance requirements and its relationship to the strategy management of the organisation

Resource management - What are the landmarks?

  • Evaluate the financial impact of action and decisions and develop strategies to address financial resource issues
  • Strong ability to recognise, measure, assess, analyse and manage business and operational risk
