Course overview
Some of the topics to be covered during this session will include:
- The key company filings with the CRO - how to ensure your clients continue to meet their company law requirements?
- The key considerations relating to recent legislation including the Companies (Corporate Governance, Enforcement and Regulatory Provisions) Act 2024, the Employment (Collective Redundancies and Miscellaneous Provisions) and Companies (Amendment) Act 2024 and the Registration of Limited Partnerships and Business Names Bill 2024, as well as the Charities (Amendment) Act 2024.
- Changes to the loss of Audit Exemption for late Filing, as well as the new European Size Thresholds for Companies.
- The latest Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA) Updates & Guidance.
- The Register of Beneficial Ownership - the key requirements, dealing with discrepancies, accessing and updating the Register; and
- The most common Company Secretarial changes.
Recent Institute interactions with the CRO will also
be a focus area, while time will also be set aside for your questions on this
topic.

Speaker Bios
Conal Kennedy, FCA - Conal is Head of Practice Consulting in Chartered Accountants Ireland. He and his team provide advice and support to practices throughout Ireland, and publish a range of practice toolkits covering audit, accounting and compliance. Over a 18 year period in Practice Consulting, Conal has coached and advised many practices through major change events such as mergers, acquisitions and retirements. He has also advised on practice development and marketing.
Conor Sweeney - Conor is a qualified Chartered Secretary of in excess of 20 years experience, who in 2014 founded CLS Chartered Secretaries. CLS provides specialist company secretarial services to accountants, solicitors, and tax advisors, while Conor also has extensive lecturing experience in this area.
