Audit Manager – Quality Assurance and Risk Management - Large Firm - Dublin
Our client is one of the fastest growing top 20 recognised training firms in Ireland.
They are ambitions and dynamic and currently employ over 100 staff. They specialise in the
provision of accounting, auditing, taxation, outsourcing and business advisory services to
medium and large clients from a wide variety of business sectors in Ireland and
internationally.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing Firm Quality and Risk
Assessment, ensuring compliance with professional standards, regulatory standards, and
network policies, and enhancing our firm's commitment to delivering high-quality audit
services to clients.
This role requires a deep understanding of audit processes, risk management, and quality
control and involves providing technical guidance on complex audit issues, ensuring that
audit teams are proficient in the latest auditing standards and methodologies, and directly
engaging with clients to deliver high-quality audit services.
Key Responsibilities:
Firm Quality Assurance:
• Design and enforce firm-wide quality control policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and
network policies.
• Monitor the implementation of the firm’s overall system of quality management and
corrective actions.
• Conduct regular cold and hot file reviews of audit engagements to ensure
compliance with the firm’s audit methodology, network policies and professional
standards.
Risk Assessment and Management
• Identify and assess potential risks related to audit engagements.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure audit practices comply with auditing standards (ISA (Ireland)), regulatory
requirements, and network policies.
• Prepare and present risk assessment reports for the firm’s leadership.
Technical Guidance and Support
• Provide expert advice and technical support
• Develop and maintain audit methodologies and best practices.
Training and Development:
• Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs.
• Deliver training sessions on technical audit topics.
• Identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations.
Policy and Procedure Development
• Develop, update, and communicate audit policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, professional organizations, and other external
stakeholders on technical and training matters.
• Represent the firm in technical forums.
Research and Development
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in auditing and accounting standards.
Client Engagement:
• Work closely with audit clients to understand their inherent and business risks and
ensure the delivery of high-quality audit services.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and
exceptional service delivery.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions to provide technical
insights and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
• ACA qualified
• Minimum of 4-5 years PQE in auditing,
• Experience in Big 4 / 6 / Top 10 preferred.
Skills and Competencies
• Extensive knowledge of ISA (Ireland), FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS, regulatory
requirements, and systems of quality management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex
auditing and accounting issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical
information clearly and concisely.
• Strong client service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality audit
services.
• Strong presentation skills and experience in delivering training to a team with a range
of abilities.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Experience in managing projects and driving initiatives to completion.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing audit files and
documentation.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
