Patricia Barker

Patricia Barker is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having qualified in 1973, the 20th woman to qualify since the inception of the Institute in 1888. She served her articles with Stokes Bros & Pimin Dublin and worked in Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Manchester. She then became a partner in an accounting practice in Manchester and worked in Manchester University as a principal lecturer. She was appointed lecturer in DCU in 1980 and progressed through senior lecturer, Associate Dean (Business School) and Vice-President (Academic) of DCU. She has completed an MPhil in Gender Studies at Trinity College. Her PhD developed a paradigm of disclosure of financial information to employees in organisations.

Gene Boyd

Gene Boyd is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and has worked in a variety of senior management roles, principally in the pharmaceutical industry. He currently works in a global role with a Danish multinational pharmaceutical company. Prior to this, he managed his own consultancy firm whose client base ranged from start-up businesses to subsidiaries of multinationals, focusing principally on the development and implementation of strategy, performance management and general management topics. Formerly, Gene was General Manager of Fujisawa Ireland, a Japanese pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Andrew Bourg

Andrew Bourg BAAF, FCA is Corporate Investment Partner at BDO Ireland and responsible for the investment and management of the BDO Development Capital Fund, a €75 million fund supporting companies to accelerate their international expansion. As Director of BES Management DAC, a joint venture between BDO and Davy, he has assisted in investing and divesting over €175 million in growing and expanding companies. Andrew has extensive sectoral experience and expertise across a range of Irish industries, particularly in advising companies on scaling and funding international growth.

Barry Brophy

Barry Brophy is presentation consultant, and has worked with many large companies in Ireland and the UK. He is engaged in research into the cognitive psychology behind communication and presentation. He is also a research engineer and part-time lecturer in University College Dublin.

Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown was a Director at Grant Thornton UK LLP. He was previously a Director with Deloitte's Forensic and Dispute Services practice in Ireland. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK where he first specialised in the area of Forensic Accounting, before moving to Ireland in 2001 to continue that work. Andrew is one of the most experienced fraud investigators in the country and has been involved in actions leading to the conviction of individuals for offences of theft and false accounting. This has included giving evidence in the Irish, UK and US courts.
