The BALANCE LGBTQ+ Allies committee, Ethnicity Network group and Age and Disability working group collaborated to host a panel discussion featuring Sandra Healy (Inclusio), Moninne Griffith (BeLong To), and Bruce McDevitt (Age Friendly Ireland).
On 24 May 2023, the Balance network of the Diversity and Inclusion committee hosted this event in KPMG's Platform X.
Chartered Accountant and Balance committee member Eimer Proctor represented the committee and her employer at a Ulster University LGBTQ+ student society event in March 2023. The event was a question-and-answer sessions where students could receive advice, direction and guidance in relation to coming out in the corporate world from others who have already navigated successfully through this process.
The event, supported by EY, featured a panel discussion with former Institute President, Shauna Greely, Senator Eileen Flynn, and Longford County Councillor Uruemu Adejinmi on the meaning and importance of inclusion to the profession. Representatives from EY, Grant Thornton, KPMG and Deloitte also spoke about their inclusion initiatives, while the committee outlined its objective of supporting members and students from Traveller, Black, Asian and other minority ethnic groups.
The Balance committee hosted an event focussed on diversity and inclusion in sport with contributions from well known speakers Zak Moradi, Aidan Walsh from Sporting Pride, Helen McHugh from Sport Ireland and rugby star Hannah Tyrell. The event was Chaired by Áine Crotty.
