In October 2022, Chartered Accountants Ireland lunched our first sustainability qualification, the Certificate in Sustainability Strategy, Risk and Reporting. As the sustainability landscape continues to evolve with the implementation in the EU of mandatory corporate Sustainability Reporting and Assurance from 2024, we are delighted to roll out two new Diplomas, the Diploma in Sustainability Reporting and the Diploma in Auditing and Assuring Sustainability Reporting.

Diploma in Sustainability Reporting

Course overview

The Diploma in Sustainability  Reporting has been designed specifically to meet the needs of Chartered Accountants and others charged with leading the implementation and delivery of the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The Diploma will equip participants with real knowledge and skills to enable them to take a lead role in the implementation of ESRS.

This programme is also a bridge for those seeking to change direction in their career offering a pathway to a career within the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) sector.

Diploma in Auditing and Assuring Sustainability Reporting

Course overview

Chartered Accountants Ireland believe accountants and auditors will play a leading role in the successful implementation and assurance of the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data as well as managing the collation and verification of the non-financial data integral to sustainability reporting.

The Diploma has been designed specifically to meet the needs of Chartered Accountants and others who intend to undertake sustainability assurance and be licenced as Sustainability Assurance Service Providers (SASPs). Recently the Irish accounting regulator IAASA confirmed their expectations for the initial approval of existing statutory auditors as SASPs and this Diploma has been designed to help meet these requirements.

Entry requirements

This programme has been designed to meet the needs of professionals who require an understanding of sustainability in business, and we welcome applications from:

  • Members and students of Chartered Accountants Ireland
  • Members of other recognised professional bodies including ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA and CPA
