This is the third in our new series
‘The Chartered Roundtables’. It will be chaired by Cróna Clohisey, Director of
Members & Advocacy at the Institute.

This is an in-person event at Chartered Accountants House at
47–49 Pearse Street, Dublin. Tea/coffee and sandwiches will be available from 12.30pm and the event will start at
1pm.

Course Overview
The event will examine:
- the advantages of the new scheme
- the economic and social impact of the scheme
- potential issues of compliance and implementation for
employers
- how companies will be affected
- what employers need
to know and do ahead of enrolment
- potential barriers to success
Key Learning Outcomes
After the event, participants
will have a practical understanding of the potential economic conditions in
2026, what it means for them, their business, and for Ireland as a place to live
and to do business.
Speaker Bio's
Jim Power
Jim Power has worked as an economist in the
private sector for over 38 years. He is owner-manager of Jim Power Economics, an
economic and financial consultancy. He is a graduate of UCD with a BA in
Economics & Politics and a Masters of Economic Science. He was Treasury
Economist, AIB (1987–1991), Chief Economist, Bank of Ireland Group (1992–2000)
and Chief Economist, Friends First Group (2000–2018). He teaches on the
Executive and full-time MBAs at Smurfit Business School, UCD. In February 2021,
Jim and Chris Johns launched a Podcast, ‘The Other Hand’.
Cróna Clohisey
Cróna is Director of Members and Advocacy in Chartered
Accountants Ireland. A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Associate
of the Irish Taxation Institute, she trained with KPMG in Dublin and spent over
10 years working in tax consultancy in both KPMG and Grant Thornton, followed by
a period in Large Cases Division in the Revenue Commissioners. Cróna then spent
several years working in financial accounting in Australia where she advised
clients in the not-for-profit sector.
