What do they look like?

You may have headed some projects and gained experience with activities outside your working life, all of which add to your judgement.

Your leadership skills are your ability to influence those around you - to inspire, guide, and support

Team leadership - What are the landmarks?

  • Provide clear direction and priorities to a team
  • Delegate authority to match responsibility and hold staff accountable for successful execution
  • Organise teamwork to encourage co-operation and bring together complementary skills and expertise

Agile thinking - What are the landmarks?

  • Identify and consider emerging development opportunities and risks when articulating new options and recommendations
  • Maintain a broad, strategic perspective while identifying and focussing on crucial details

Diplomatic sensitivity/emotional intelligence - What are the landmarks?

  • Be aware of the impact your behaviours are having on others and be able to read and adjust to the behaviours of others appropriately

Organisational alignment - What are the landmarks?

  • Promote a shared understanding of the organisation's needs and strategic direction to motivate your teams

Strategic networking - What are the landmarks?

  • Identify and create opportunities to initiate new partnerships that will facilitate the achievement of goals

Mentoring and coaching - What are the landmarks?

  • Be able to mentor and coach others with a view to developing them
