Team development and leadership - What are the landmarks?

  • You inspire, lead, motivate, provide vision, keep people focussed on organisational goals and you encourage cooperation, commitment and team spirit
  • Develop high-performing teams that deliver in highly complex organisations or situations

Mentoring and coaching - What are the landmarks?

  • You can act as a high level mentor and sounding board providing others with direction and insights to enhance their performance and development. You incorporate coaching into your leadership style

Diplomatic sensitivity - What are the landmarks?

  • Understand unspoken messages and nuances and respond in a tactful manner being mindful of the implications including unintended consequences

Agile thinking/strategic appreciation - What are the landmarks?

  • Generates and owns a strategic plan and vision that integrates numerous business issues, functions and resources for effective outcomes
  • Defines and builds a corporate culture that is congruent with and facilitates the implementation of strategy
  • Understands and advises the management team in relation to business fundamentals and the position of the organisation in the wider global market and uses knowledge of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; identifies competitive differentiators to devise the strategy for the organisation
  • Displays high levels of analytical intelligence . Examines, evaluates and analyses the bigger picture while setting setting priorities and devising the way forward. Ability to see solutions where others do not
  • Uses scanning and visionary capabilities to successfully predict market trends and align organisation strategy to capitalise on market potential

Strategic networking - What are the landmarks?

  • Create innovative partnerships with outside stakeholders that create opportunities in the organisation and beyond
  • Build solid relationships based on loyalty and trust
  • Play a key role in established networks and leverage these to obtain information of strategic importance to the organisation
  • Use these networks to promote and advance the interests of the organisation

Organisational alignment - What are the landmarks?

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy that ensures the success of the organisation as a whole
  • Ensure that the company culture reinforces its mission and values
  • Have expertise in organisational behaviour, management, marketing, HR and operations management
  • Ensure the initiatives and priorities of the various parts of the organisation are aligned with the strategic direction of the overall organisation
  • Drive for improvement and move in new and challenging directions by transforming the organisation through its people. Energise and motivate the whole organisation to want to change in the same direction.

Communication - What are the landmarks?

  • You use appropriate communications to convey the needs, strategy and direction to the organisation. This includes communication with the board, senior management and external stakeholders

Influencing - What are the landmarks?

  • Intellectual capability to liaise at a high level with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders. Build consensus with these stakeholders and empower others
  • You project your authority and instil confidence and motivate those around you by your ability to clearly state your decision, conclusions and course of action.
