CPD terms and conditions

General 

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland reserves the right to change the courses being offered and prices may be subject to change.
  • CPD courses are open to accountants and non-accountants and members and non-members of Chartered Accountants Ireland, with the exception of Going into Practice which is only open to members.
  • Every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained on these pages and in our brochures is accurate and current.
  • Our courses are subject to capacity and we cannot always guarantee that places will be available for any particular courses. Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or reschedule a course, all fees paid for that course will be fully refundable.
  • Every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information presented in our brochures, on the CPD web pages, in our personal communications with you, during courses and in our hard copy course materials. However, the CPD team are not responsible for errors or omissions and make no warranty - either express or implied - with respect to the content of the material delivered.
  • The CPD team cannot be held responsible for any consequences from the application of the information contained on our website or in courses, manuals, printed materials and other communication and training provided.
  • We reserve the right to update or change our terms and conditions.

Confirmations and correspondence 

  • Upon receipt of your booking, we will endeavour to respond with email acknowledgement within one working day.
  • All correspondence relating to your course will be sent by email. It is important that you update your "My Account" area of the website of any changes to your contact details.
  • Full payment or the provision of a PO number will be required at the time of booking, unless other arrangements have been specifically agreed in writing.
  • Access to your course will not be granted unless your course fees are paid.

Transferring attendees and last minute bookings

  • If you cannot attend a course as planned and would like a colleague to attend in your place, just let us know and we can transfer the name to theirs. They will then receive the CPD hours allocation.
  • If you decide on the day to attend without a prior booking, we will do our best to accommodate you where capacity exists. We will ask you to fill out a booking form and for payment details.

CPD pre-recorded courses access

  • CPD online courses are accessible for six months from the date of purchase.
  • Purchased courses are locked to the account of the person who purchased them and cannot be changed.
  • Training tickets can be used to purchase a CPD online course.
  • If you wish to purchase a course provided by third party provider AccountingCPD.net, please note that your name and email address will be provided securely to AccountingCPD.net in order to deliver the course. Your data will be treated with confidentiality and in adherence with our Privacy Statement and that of AccountingCPD.net as well as requirements under GDPR.

How to access pre-recorded courses

  • The Kubicle and pre-recorded course: course will appear on your My Account > My downloads area after purchase. They will play once you click on the link.
  • Greenline Conversations courses: Course will appear on your My Account > My downloads area after purchase, you will be issued with an invite via email shortly to access the course.

Online learning platforms

  • Any CPD courses entailing content which is accessed online uses externally provided learning platforms. Interaction between delegates is possible here and users' names are visible to each other.

Live online webinars/Virtual Classrooms and recording

  • You are not permitted to photograph, film, record or otherwise transmit any audio or visual material, data at or in connection with an online classroom session unless with prior written consent of Chartered Accountants Ireland.  You understand and acknowledge that:

(A) you may be filmed or otherwise recorded (Recordings) by Chartered Accountants Ireland during an online classroom session

(B) you will not receive any payment in relation to the use, publication, or distribution of any Recordings.

(C)  you are not permitted to share a link to a live or recording of any CPD event with another participant who has not officially registered for the session 

  • By being present at an online classroom session, you:

(A) agree that Chartered Accountants Ireland has absolute rights of ownership of any recordings

(B) agree that the Recordings may be used by Chartered Accountants Ireland for various purposes, including but not limited to, as part of learning materials and promotional activities

i) hereby release Chartered Accountants Ireland, its officers employees, affiliates, licensees, agents and assignees (Related Parties) from any and all present and future liabilities, including but not limited to: claims, demands or suits;

ii) losses or damages of any kind excluding those caused by or resulting from any wrongful, wilful or negligent act or omission of Chartered Accountants Ireland or any of its Related Parties;

iii) or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including but not limited loss of profits or anticipated profits, loss of goodwill or loss of reputation, even if notified of the possibility of such potential loss or damage, that may arise out of you participation at a Chartered Accountants Ireland online classroom session ,or as a result of the use of any Recordings in which you are in any way depicted and/or identified.

Going into Practice Course

All members who attend the Going into Practice course receive a 50% discount off CPD courses and events hosted by Chartered Accountants Ireland for 12 months. This discount is available from the date you attend the course. To avail of this discount, the CPD team will email you a specific discount code after your attendance has been confirmed.

Going into Practice, discounts can be used for:

  • Classroom CPD courses in ROI and NI provided by Chartered Accountants Ireland
  • Live webinars and Virtual Classrooms provided by Chartered Accountants Ireland
  • Pre-recorded CPD course or events
  • District Society CPD-sanctioned events

Going into Practice, discounts cannot be used for:

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland specialist qualifications (diplomas, certificates and Chartered Tax Consultant)
  • Other Chartered Accountants Ireland products or services (examples include but are not limited to publications, toolkits, annual membership subscriptions)
  • IT courses, provided by a third-party provider
  • Online CPD courses offered by third-party providers, including accountingCPD.net and Kubicle online courses.

 Classroom course materials

  • In general, we do not provide hard copy material for in person CPD events unless it is necessary for activities in class or requested by the speaker. Instead, the material will be emailed to you either in advance or after concluding a live session
  • Individual speakers/presenters reserve the right to not have their materials circulated after the event. Please respect that we may need to decline requests for materials to be sent after events.

Use and protection of your information 

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland will use the information which you have provided to respond to your request or to process your transaction and will hold and protect it in accordance with our privacy statement which explains your rights in relation to your personal data.

Event privacy

Chartered Accountants Ireland has an event privacy notice. When accepting terms and conditions, you accept that you have read and accept this notice.

Cancellation policy

  • CPD requires written notification of all cancellations 48 hours before the course begins, otherwise the full course fee will be applied regardless of payment method (including training tickets).
  • Should you need to cancel a course within the cancellation period (48 hours before the course starts), please email cpd@charteredaccountants.ie to advise in writing.
  • Webinars , The Kubicle and pre-recorded courses: once these courses are purchased, we cannot refund as these courses are locked to your account and cannot be removed.
  • CPD Excel courses: Please note we require written notice of cancellation of any Excel course ten days before the course begins.
