Exemption using Advanced Taxation elective at FAE
If you have successfully passed the Advanced Taxation elective at FAE during Chartered Accountants Ireland accountancy training (ROI or NI), you will be eligible for an exemption from the first stage of CTC. You can progress directly to the final stage of the programme and achieve your professional tax qualification in six months.
If you meet the main programme requirements (are a Chartered Accountant [ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW] you can apply for this exemption.

Other exemptions available
- If you are a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW) and hold a recognised tax qualification such as part 2 or above of AITI, you will be eligible from the first stage of CTC. You can progress directly to the final stage of the programme and achieve your professional tax qualification in six months.
- If you are a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW) and have completed the Chartered Accountants Ireland Diploma in Taxation, you will be exempt from attending the first stage modules and from completing the Applied Tax assignments but you will need to complete and pass the Applied Tax exams before proceeding to the final stage (Integrated Tax).
