Career break
We require a printout of your ceased employment details, which can be found in Revenue's MyAccount service in the 'Manage your tax service' section. Your previous employer enters your leaving date when submitting details of your final pay and deductions to Revenue. This is in place of the P45 which is no longer issued. We also require a letter from your company confirming your employment cease date and your intention to take a career break.
You must supply the reason for your career break.
Registered unemployed
A copy of a recent Department of Social Welfare payment slip (dated within 3 months). Or alternatively, a letter from the Department of Social Welfare confirming that you are registered unemployed, dated within 3 months. Together with a printout of your ceased employment details, (which can be found in Revenue's MyAccount service in the 'Manage your tax service' section, if you registered recently in 2020. Your previous employer enters your leaving date when submitting details of your final pay and deductions to Revenue. This is in place of the P45 which is no longer issued).
Full time study
- A letter from college/university confirming that you are a full-time student.
- Details of any income that you are in receipt of
Self-employed
A copy of your business accounts or tax return
Maternity leave
A letter from company confirming your gross income for the year, the period of maternity leave and that they are not covering all/part or reimbursing your annual subscription. You should also submit confirmation of your statutory maternity benefit.
Full or part time employment
A letter from company confirming gross annual income and that they are not covering all/part or reimbursing your annual subscription.
Retired – not yet 40 years a member
Declaration of retirement and proof of income.
Ill health
