Resignation of membership
If you would prefer to end your membership to Chartered Accountants Ireland and cease to be a CA, you may request to resign. Unfortunately, there are some serious implications of resignation of this body. You would no longer be able to describe yourself as a Chartered Accountant.
Under Byelaw 6.4, if, after a Complaint is brought or comes to the attention of the Head of Professional Conduct, a member, affiliate, or student tender his or her resignation such resignation shall not be effective until all disciplinary action relating to that Complaint has been finally concluded.
To resign from Chartered Accountants Ireland, you must fill out the query box below and you will receive a call from a member of the Registry team to discuss your resignation with you. We appreciate all feedback from members who resign to help us improve in the future.
If you wish to proceed with your resignation, you are obliged to return your certificate of membership in accordance with Byelaw 36(d)
