Once you qualify as a Chartered Accountant you are suddenly faced with the prospect of rapidly sculpting a career path for yourself in a chosen direction. This can be overwhelming and confusing and usually a simple plan and approach to mapping out your initial years post-qualification can lay the foundation for your career pathway going the way you want.

This course helps members to take that first step into practice. It covers the basics of compliance and what you need to do to make a success of a practice. Members are advised of the pitfalls and given insights and valuable tips, including presentations by two leading practitioners on their practice stories.

This interactive, in-person Mentoring Circle explores leadership as influence, presence, and decision-making- not just formal titles. The session includes a panel discussion hosted by Charlotte Rose Keating, followed by mentoring-circle discussions where participants share perspectives and learning. Open to new and returning members, the focus is on how influence, collaboration, and credibility show up in day-to-day work across roles, supporting trusted, sustainable business leadership at all career stages.

In a competitive market it is important to continually grow your business. Setting aside time for business development isn’t easy and for most people it is often the part of the job that gets push to one side when you are busy. However, using the excuse that you are too busy isn’t usually the real reason. It is one part of the role that lots of people find difficult, aren’t comfortable doing it and will avoid it as much as possible.
