Volunteer accountants are available to provide confidential, basic accounting advice for free and in person across most areas of business through a network of advice clinics around Ireland. They operate with the active co-operation and involvement of Citizens Information Centres and Money Advice and Budget Service (MABS).
Please contact your local advice clinic to see how CAVA can assist you.
Your CAVA Volunteer, who is a Chartered Accountant, will:
- do their best to give you useful and correct advice in relation to your business affairs
Your CAVA Volunteer will not:
- carry out an audit of your business (or your company, if any) and will assume no responsibility or liability in relation to any audit.
Notes for you
- For ID purposes, you will provide your CAVA volunteer with a copy of your passport or driver’s license and a current utility bill at your first meeting.
- You are responsible for providing complete, relevant and honest information to CAVA, so please ensure you have all possible information and communications that you may need to provide the volunteer with an accurate picture of your situation.
- You are responsible for filing your own tax returns on a timely basis.
- Any meetings between the CAVA volunteer and you will take place in either a MABS or Citizen Information Centre office, as appropriate.
Please note that with the impact of Covid-19, face-to-face meetings have been put on hold; we are looking to create a virtual meeting place so that we can continue to help you.
