Other qualifications - non-accredited programmes

Programmes from recognised third level education providers that do not have a formal accreditation agreement in place can give exemptions to students. These programmes will usually give partial CAP 1 exemptions, but there are often exceptions.

If you wish to apply for an exemption for a non-accredited programme, you must:

  • Read our CAP1 Competency Statement to ensure you have sufficient coverage of the subject topics before submitting an application for exemptions.
  • Create an online application to receive formal confirmation of your eligibility and exemptions
  • Arrange to have your transcripts of results for each year of study shared with transcripts@charteredaccountants.ie through the appropriate channels
  • Send subject module descriptors and sample exam papers to transcripts@charteredaccountants.ie.

We accept exemption applications from overseas programmes, and all documents sent to us must be translated into English by a certified service. Applicants for our programme must live on the island of Ireland while completing their studies with us.
