About the role
The Professional Standards Department (PSD) of Chartered Accountants Ireland, along with the relevant compliance and disciplinary committees is responsible for the delivery of the Institute’s regulation and disciplinary obligations which derive both from statute and its own Bye-Laws & Regulations.
The PSD department are seeking to recruit an administrator on a fixed-purpose basis to provide administration support for the Institute Conduct process and corresponding Committees.
This role reports to the Practice Regulation Manager.
Key responsibilities
The specific functions of this role will include:
• Source all required documentation for case files from e-filing system, compile case files in Adobe and submit for approval to the Practice Regulation Manager
• Distribute case files to member, complainant, committee members and any other necessary parties
• Hosting and scheduling Committee meetings and Investigation and Disciplinary hearings over Microsoft Teams and/or in person – distributing links when required to all parties involved
• Scheduling Stenographers when required for Committee meetings and hearings
• Maintaining and filing confidential documents, correspondence, and meeting papers on the secure e-filing system ensuring confidentiality of information at all times
• Screen e-mails and telephone calls and take action as necessary
• Develop a sound knowledge of Institute procedures and regulations
• Any other administrative duties as instructed by the Practice Regulation Manager.
General
• General support for members and firms in terms of their interactions with PSD
• Support the PSD in delivery of tasks, projects and activities designed to promote good professional standards
• Support other members of the wider administrative team, especially when practical support is required due to holiday, sickness absence or work peaks
• Performing any other ad-hoc duties as may be required to ensure that the objectives of the Professional Standards Department are met.

- Ability to quickly build rapport and develop effective working relationships with others both internal and external to the organisation.
- Ability to multi-task, delegate and adapt to changing contexts and priorities of the Professional Standards team.
- Proficient in using email, Internet, and other Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- An interest in digital tools and ongoing development improvements to enhance member/firm experience would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be a member of a Recognised Accountancy Body/Recognised Supervisory Body with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience working in practice, including experience in statutory audit at a managerial level. Experience of working in a regulatory or compliance role would be an advantage.
